THE members of the Sleaford Parkinson's UK Support Group would like to say a huge thank you for the money raised through the Christmas Concert.

The event was held at NKDC Civic Suite on Friday night.

The concert was presented by Sleaford Vintage Brass, led by Peter Freeman, who gave a mixed programme from classical music to pop and seasonal Christmas carols.

The fun-packed evening, with supper and raffle, raised the magnificent final sum of £900 for the charity.

There was an added surprise presentation from the staff of Blanchard's Coffee shop. Since the summer they have been having a monthly quiz, sold donated books and also held a Christmas craft evening, all of which raised an incredible £800.

The combined total of £1,700 will be used to pay for equipment needed to ease the difficulties of people who have Parkinson's Disease.

Our thanks go to Vintage Brass for presenting a fantastic evening, Jayne's Pantry for the superb supper and to all the volunteers who helped to get the evening arranged.

Last, but by no means least, thank you to the people in and around Sleaford for supporting both the concert and Blanchard's activities. Support from locals to locals – now that's the true Christmas spirit.

The support group meets the last Friday of the month at The Solo Club, Market Place.
