MANY of you will have thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas Market, but I have the advantage, having been fortunate enough to be a member of the Christmas Market Committee, to know who was responsible for creating that wonderful spectacle.
I would therefore like to give my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to them for their untiring efforts to ensure the success of the whole day.
Shelagh McIntyre, the town clerk and all her staff, who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the day, particularly Neil Butler and Melanie Waddingham, Lauren, Stephanie, Lisa and Steve; Clare Darch the chairperson of the committee and her very able deputy Garry Titmuss; Mark Graves and Ken Fernandes, all councillors with Sleaford Town Council; Nigel Gresham, Stephen and Melody Shanahan-Kluth and Luke Winter, who were members of the Sleaford Carnival Committee, and who kindly offered to be co-opted on to the committee; Keith Carroll, the 'Fairground Man' for his considerable efforts particularly bearing in mind the amount of travelling he had to do to achieve them; the First Aiders without whom we would have been struggling; and to all the others that I haven't mentioned, but without whom this success could not have been achieved, particularly the marshals who stood and manned the barricades for so many hours, and all the acts, performers, bands and other entertainers who put their heart and soul into it and gave us so much enjoyment.
It was a great pleasure and privilege to have been with you on that day.
Sleaford Town Council
